Macon County Health Department Announces Appointment of Chief Financial Officer

The Macon County Health Department (MCHD) and the MCHD Board of Health are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).


LaKeeya Funches will begin in her new role as CFO on Monday, February 13, 2023. LaKeeya obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Millikin University and has been involved in a multitude of acts of community service in Macon County. “I am excited for the opportunity to continue serving the Macon County Health Department in a new role and am grateful to have had a wonderful mentor, Sheree Zalanka, who helped me lay a solid foundation in my career here. Thank you to the outgoing administration, our interim administrator, and the Board of Health for the support and opportunity to take this next step,” Funches stated. Board of Health President Mark Scranton echoed the excitement. He stated that he is so happy to be able to promote a qualified internal employee to the CFO position and sends his most sincere congratulations to LaKeeya.
