We provide a variety of programs and services for caregivers, new and expecting parents, and children from birth to age 5. Our staff also provides information and referrals for programs and services provided by partner agencies throughout the community.

Our High-Risk Infant Follow Up (HRIF) Program serves families of high-risk infants and children up to 2 years of age, identified through the IDPH Adverse Pregnancy Outcome Reporting System (APORS) or following WIC/FCM Division program assessment. Eligible families will be linked with a Registered Nurse Case Manager to offer one-on-one support; developmental assessments; and referrals. Our Better Birth Outcomes (BBO) Program works closely with eligible high-risk pregnant women . Women in this program receive one-on-one support; referrals; and prenatal, postpartum, and interconceptional health education. For more information, please call us at (217) 423-3764 ext: 1335.
Our WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors give basic breastfeeding information and support to WIC breastfeeding moms to help improve their breastfeeding experience . Our Family Case Management Program (FCM ) is an income-based program that serves pregnant women and infants up to 1 year of age. Eligible families will receive support to connect with the appropriate provider for medical needs, increase knowledge of healthy pregnancy and postpartum care, and increased understanding of the stages of child development. Healthy Families Illinois™ Macon County is a home visiting program that provides new parents with parenting skills and basic child health information to achieve appropriate growth and development. igrow links families to home visiting programs that offer family-focused services to expectant parents and families with new babies and young children. igrow will pair families with a home visiting program based on each family’s individual needs and schedules. Our home visitors emphasize practical parenting skills, as well as family bonding before birth and as children grow up.

The WIC Program provides supplemental food and nutrition education for women, infants and children up to 5 years old. Nutrition education can be offered in a variety of ways, including individual nutrition education, group education, self-study modules and/or internet education. WIC also promotes breastfeeding and offers breastfeeding support through our Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program.
