Diabetes Self-Management Program to be Offered in May

DECATUR, IL - The Macon County Health Department is offering an evidence-based Diabetes Self-Management Program that is open to the public. Through the program, individuals will learn how to communicate effectively with their doctor and other healthcare professionals, manage symptoms, fight fatigue, build their confidence, eat healthier, and monitor their blood sugar.


Classes are held on Wednesdays for two and a half hours. They are FREE and open to all of those affected by diabetes, including family members and caregivers. The sessions will be held from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Macon County Health Department, located at 1221 E. Condit St. in Decatur, Illinois. 


The sessions will take place on the following days: 

  • May 7th
  • May 14th
  • May 21st
  • May 28th
  • June 11th
  • June 18th
